God is Good

If God is Good, is He good to me ?

If God is Good to me, then I can give up my will and trust Him to do what is good for me, to guide me into blessing, to protect me, to bless me.

If God is good, then He will direct my life to pursue what is best for me.

But I have fear of losing out, fear of loss, a need for acceptance, a need to perform so I can be considered a good man. A need to not be embarrassed….to protect Me.

But if God is Good, then I can abandon all that mess and trust Him for acceptance and worth and true gratification.

The war between me and me. Me making my own way, pleasing Me. And the Me that believes God is good and by pleasing Him, everything I need will be provided. The one and only great need: to please Him, to pursue Him.

David said, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I have no need”. And if true, then I can live in a realm that every good thing I need will be provided and stop struggling to please me. (So, Jesus announced He is the Good Shepherd and by example lived a death to Self, to please the One who is Good. )

I suppose it is a death to one Me and a true life to the other Me, the one who believes:

God is good.
